We are happy to announce the reopening of the AKKO restaurant on June 11, 2021.
Open every day except Sunday.
Monday to Thursday: menu or à la carte choice
Friday and Saturday: menu only
We are already looking forward to welcoming you as soon as it reopens!
We invite you to embark upon a culinary journey in a thoroughly modern setting, with a historical link just around the corner, under the careful guidance of our team of enthusiastic staff.
Restaurant AKKO owes its name to the founders of the Alden Biesen realm, namely, the Teutonic Order.
This Order organised numerous crusades to the promised land of Israel and, more specifically, the holy city of Jerusalem which invariably meant passing through the city of Akko.
Following a number of failed crusades, the Teutonic Order decided to capture Akko. The Order subsequently set up a field hospital there for crusaders passing through the city during the third crusade (1189-1192), providing them with welcome shelter and enabling them to regain their strength before continuing the journey to the Holy City of Jerusalem.
Just as the Order once welcomed crusaders to Akko hospital, we invite you to sample our culinary delights and enjoy a carefree stay with us.
